VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A firefighter from Orange County was arrested last week for allegedly spreading numerous opened tampons on her former boyfriend’s lawn, as reported by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.

The incident report states that deputies were summoned to the ex-boyfriend’s residence on Thursday evening after he and his current partner found the tampons in their garden.

“There were approximately 75 opened tampons in their yard, which were stained red as if they were possibly used,” the affidavit reads.

Investigators said the couple then reviewed their security camera, finding that a truck had approached the home at night earlier in the week.

The footage revealed that a person — believed to be Gabrielle Franze, 28 — began throwing the tampons into the yard.

“They felt it was Gabrielle due to her demonstrating that she was unhappy with the fact (they) were now together,” a detective wrote.

Deputies utilized license-plate readers to trace the vehicle back to Franze, who initially denied knowing where her ex-boyfriend resided, according to the report.

Nevertheless, after being shown the photos from the license-plate readers, she altered her account, admitting to being at the location but disassociating herself from the idea of the prank.

The affidavit further details Franze’s claim: “Gabrielle mentioned that during a visit from her mother and aunt, who are from out of state, the idea to scatter tampons on the couple’s property was concocted.”

As a result, Franze was taken into custody on Friday and now faces two counts of stalking. She was released on bail later that day.

Following her detention, jail authorities informed News 6 that Franze allegedly accompanied her mother and aunt to the ex-boyfriend’s house, where they dispersed over 100 “soiled tampons” across the lawn and driveway.

Jail officials added that Franze was a firefighter/paramedic with Orange County Fire Rescue at the time the incident happened.
