KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — Dolly Parton’s sister took to social media Tuesday afternoon to ask for prayers, mentioning that the country superstar “hasn’t been feeling her best.”

“Last night, I was up all night praying for my sister, Dolly,” Freida Parton posted on Facebook. “I truly believe in the power of prayer, and I have been led to ask everyone who loves her to be prayer warriors and join me in prayer.”

She continued, “She’s strong, she’s loved, and with all the prayers being offered for her, I know in my heart she’s going to be just fine. Godspeed, my sissy Dolly. We all love you!”

Parton, 79, recently postponed her Las Vegas tour, citing “health challenges.”

Parton performs occasionally but hasn’t been on tour since her “Pure & Simple Tour” concluded in 2016. However, she has kept busy: On Nov. 11, she will release a new book, “Star of the Show: My Life on Stage.” Additionally, a stage musical inspired by her life is planned to premiere on Broadway in 2026.

Last month, she also missed the announcement of the latest attraction at Dollywood, her Tennessee theme park, mentioning health issues.

“I had a kidney stone that was causing me many issues, which led to an infection, and the doctor advised, ‘You don’t need to be traveling right now, so you need a few days to recover,’” Parton explained in a video message at the time. “Thus, he suggested I not go to Dollywood today, but I’m with you in spirit. I was so looking forward to it.”

Parton’s husband, Carl Dean, died in March at age 82. The pair had been married for nearly 60 years.

In July, Parton shared with Khloé Kardashian on the “Khloé in Wonder Land” podcast that she was stepping back from songwriting following Dean’s passing.
