Two years ago, Hamas militants breached the Israeli border from Gaza, attacking residents on a kibbutz and targeting festivalgoers at an outdoor music event. This assault resulted in the death of over 1,200 Israelis, with 251 taken hostage.
Fox’s Trey Yingst was on the scene several days after the massacre in Beeri. This is what he saw:
“The floors in the kitchens are marked with blood. It was a Saturday morning when these fighters invaded homes. Soldiers here have found those who seem to have been executed—people with hands bound, mothers with their young, and even beheaded bodies. The scene was utter terror in this small village,” Yang reported.
Her husband Keith was kept in solitary confinement for six months.
“During my time there, I was moved 13 times in 51 days. Keith stayed for 484 days. We were subjected to torture, deprived of food, while they ate in front of us. I shed 10 kilos. Keith came back emaciated. He was hardly recognizable. I was in such poor health I couldn’t walk on my return,” Aviva recounted.
The ensuing Israeli military response has led to the deaths of tens of thousands of Gazans, with Israel now controlling 80% of the Gaza Strip. Although Israel claims its targets are not civilians, over 90% of Gaza has suffered destruction.

“I witnessed the abuse of girls by Hamas fighters; they did whatever they wished. I saw a girl being beaten and threatened with death over suspected lies,” Siegel described. “It was as though I died, unable to aid them or Keith as he endured torture. It was more excruciating than my own torture, which included being dragged by my hair, shoved, starved, mocked, and threatened. I experienced a true nightmare.”
