A video has surfaced showing a group of masked individuals allegedly assaulting students outside a school in the northern part of Melbourne.
Greenvale Secondary College had to be locked down after two students were reportedly injured in a confrontation that started around 3:12 pm today.
The police are looking into the incident where five individuals allegedly confronted students outside the school on Glencairn Drive.
A fight ensued, resulting in minor injuries to two students, according to police reports.
Onlookers captured the alleged attack on video, which displayed a series of punches exchanged among a group of people.
Authorities believe that a machete was brought to the scene by one individual, though it was not used during the confrontation.
In an email to parents, the school’s principal said the college was put into lockdown but assured them students and staff are safe.
The five alleged offenders left the area in a car and have not been located.
Police have described it as a “targeted” incident.
Ambulances were called to the incident, however no emergency treatment or hospital transport was needed.
An investigation remains ongoing.
