KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (WATE) — On Wednesday, after worries about her health, Dolly Parton posted a video letting fans know that she is okay.
On Tuesday, Freida Parton, sister of Dolly Parton, requested prayers for Dolly, mentioning that she “hasn’t been feeling her best.” This statement, which was shared about 21,000 times, followed Dolly Parton postponing her Las Vegas tour due to “health challenges” about a week prior.
On Wednesday afternoon, Dolly posted a video on X saying that she was okay. She captioned it, “I ain’t dead yet!”
Dolly addressed these concerns by reassuring everyone, “I know lately everybody thinks that I am sicker than I am. I wanted to put everybody’s mind at ease, those of you that seemed to be real concerned — which I appreciate, and I appreciate your prayers, because I’m a person of faith.”
She elaborated on having “some problems” and admitted to neglecting her health following her husband’s passing. Her doctor advised her to undergo a few treatments, leading her to reschedule some commitments and remain near Vanderbilt University Medical Center, though she assured fans it was “nothing major.”
She reassured everyone by saying, “I wanted you to know that I’m not dying. I’m not ready to die yet. I don’t think God is through with me, and I ain’t done working. So, I love you for caring and keep praying for me.”
She explained that she was currently filming commercials for the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville.
