Three Indian films and one web show have made it to the latest list of most-watched non-English content for the week on Netflix. The platform shared the latest weekly list and has ranked two Hindi films and one Hindi web show among the global top ten. These include Son of Sardaar 2, Dhadak 2, and Ba***ds of Bollywood.

Mahavatar Narsimha on Netflix global top 10 list for third consecutive week

The Indian animation Mahavatar Narsimha has made a space for itself on Netflix global top 10 for the third week in a row now. It is also the second week on the platform for Son of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2. Aaryan Khan’s Ba***ds of Bollywood is also enjoying its third week on the list.

In its third consecutive week on Netflix, Mahavatar Narsimha recorded 1.3 million views and 2.9 million watch-hours on the platform. For the week ending October 5, the film was ranked the seventh most-watched non-English film on Netflix worldwide. It was also among the top ten most-watched films in India and Maldives. With 2.8 million views in India, Mahavatar Narsimha was the second most-watched film across online platforms in India.

Last week, Mahavatar Narsimha ranked at the fourth slot on Netflix’s list of most-watched non-English film. It was also the most watched movie in Mauritius and India and ranked among the top ten most-watched films in seven countries on Netflix. Ever since it released online on September 19, Mahavatar Narsimha has been among the top ten most-watched non-English films on Netflix worldwide and the top five most-watched movie on any online platform in India.

Mahavatar Narsimha has been directed by debutant filmmaker Ashwin Kumar. The film is the first part of a seven-part franchise on the ten different incarnations of the Hindu God Vishnu. Mahavatar Narsimha focuses on two of those incarnations – Narsimha (lion-man) and Varaha (boar). The complete seven part is named as Mahavatar Cinematic Universe.

Son of Sardaar 2

Headlined by Ajay Devgn, Son of Sardaar 2 is the most-watched Indian film worldwide on Netflix for the week ending October 5. With 2.6 million views and 6.2 million watch-hours, the film is the fourth most-watched non0-English film on Netflix worldwide for this week. In its second week on the list, Son of Sardaar 2 also made it to the top ten most-watched movies’ lists on Netflix in ten countries. It was also the most watched film in India, UAE and Pakistan.

Last week, Son of Sardaar 2 was the fifth most watched non-English film on Netflix. It also made it to the top ten most-watched movies’ list in six countries. According to Ormax Media, it is the most-watched film on any online platform in India in the week ending October 5 with three million views in the country alone.

Directed by Vijay Kumar Arora, Son of Sardaar stars Ajay Devgn, Kubbra Sait, Mrunal Thakur, Chunky Pandey, Mukul Dev, Neeru Bajwa and Ravi Kishan. When it released in theatres in August, Son of Sardaar 2 had an average box office run. It is a sequel to the 2012 Hindi film Son of Sardaar.

Dhadak 2

Dhadak 2 is a Hindi remake of the Malayalam film Pariyerum Perumal. The Bollywood film is the sixth most-watched non-English film on Netflix for the week ending October 5. The film recorded two million views and 4.8 million watch-hours in its second week on the platform. It was also the most-watched film on Netflix in Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Maldives and also made it to the top ten most-watched films’ list in ten countries.

Directed by Shazia Iqbal, the film was the ninth most-watched non-English film on Netflix in its debut week. Dhadak 2 is the fifth most-watched film on any online platform in India with 1.9 million views in the country.

Dharma Productions have backed Dhadak 2 which is a sequel to their 2018 film Dhadak. Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor made her debut with Dhadak. Dhadak 2 features Siddhant Chaturvedi and Triptii Dimri and had a damp run at the box office when it released along side Son of Sardaar 2 in August.

Ba***ds of Bollywood

Ba***ds of Bollywood is the tenth most-watched non-English web show on Netflix for the week ending October 5. It recorded 1.4 million views and 7.4 million watch-hours on the platform this week. In India, the show registered 3.2 million views to become the most-watched show on any online platform in the country.

The show, featuring Bobby Deol, Raghav Juyal, Mona Singh, Manish Chaudhuri, Gautami Kapoor and Rajat Bedi, is directed by first-timer Aaryan Khan who is the son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan.
