In Taylorville, Illinois, two individuals were taken into custody on Wednesday after a narcotics investigation led by the Taylorville Police Department uncovered unlawful activities.

According to a Facebook update from the department, the Community Action Team had been actively probing into suspected drug trafficking. On Wednesday, authorities carried out a search warrant in the Hillcrest Trailer Park as part of the ongoing investigation.

“We express our heartfelt gratitude to John McWard for his invaluable assistance and collaboration throughout this investigation,” officials stated. “His aid was crucial for the success of this operation.”

As a result, 35-year-old Kellie Wingo and 41-year-old Jacob Samson were arrested for possession and delivery of methamphetamine.

“In speaking with the two individuals, it was apparent that they are grappling with addiction issues,” officials conveyed. “Our foremost duty involves law enforcement, but it’s vital to acknowledge the personal struggles of addiction. Both individuals showed a desire for assistance, and we urged them to seek immediate help at Safe Passage upon their potential release. The Taylorville Police Department is dedicated not only to enforcing the law but also to facilitating recovery opportunities for those in need.”
