Russian President Vladimir Putin commended President Donald Trump for his efforts in negotiating global peace agreements, particularly highlighting his success in mediating a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
“He is actively working to address such complex, longstanding crises,” Putin remarked at a summit in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, where he engaged with leaders from former Soviet nations.
The remarks came in response to a question about whether he felt Trump had been passed over for the Nobel Peace Prize.

“In my view, these decisions have done enormous damage to the prestige of this prize,” he continued.
In September, Trump alluded to the likelihood that he would again be passed over for the Nobel Prize despite helping to end several conflicts.
“If successful, it will be eight agreements in eight months. That’s remarkable,” Trump exclaimed while addressing senior military officials in Quantico, Virginia. “No one has achieved that before. Will you receive the Nobel Prize? Certainly not.

“They’ll award it to someone who didn’t contribute anything,” he added. “They’ll give it to the author of a book about Donald Trump’s approach to resolving conflicts. The Nobel Prize will go to a writer.”
