Investigators release video of possible abduction, showing woman screaming as she’s pulled away

Wichita police are seeking assistance from the public to identify a woman who was reportedly abducted early on Sunday morning, a situation that has left the local residents feeling disturbed.

Authorities released images and surveillance footage showing the last sighting of the woman at approximately 2 a.m. on Sunday, October 12, in the 1400 block of North Volutsia, located between Grove and Hillside. The investigators have been working to follow several leads throughout the day and have expressed gratitude towards the community for its support.

“We’ve been diligently working on this investigation throughout the day, tracking numerous leads, and we value the public’s cooperation,” the department stated in a post on X.

Investigators also followed up on a call from Oklahoma initially believed to be connected to the case but later determined to be unrelated.

One resident, who recently returned from visiting family in Mexico, said the situation has her worried for young women in the area.

Wichita police are requesting the public’s assistance to identify the woman in the video, who was reportedly taken forcibly early Sunday. It’s noted that a witness expressed concerns about the safety of the neighborhood, mentioning to KAKE News her shock at witnessing such an event in her community.

By Monday afternoon, there were still no significant updates from the police. Investigators informed Fox News Digital that they are meticulously reviewing the video frame by frame, in search of any clues that might aid in identifying those involved.
