Newly unsealed documents reveal that Bryan Kohberger’s sister was on the prosecution’s witness list had the case gone to trial earlier this year.
Amanda Kohberger was also on her brother’s witness list, PEOPLE reported.
She was the only member of the Kohberger family on the prosecution list for testimony during the guilt phase of the trial, the publication said.
Kohberger admitted his guilt in the murders of Xana Kernodle, Ethan Chapin, Madison Mogen, and Kaylee Goncalves, receiving four life sentences and thereby eschewing the death penalty, according to CrimeOnline.
The prosecution’s list of immediate family members of the victims included Chapin’s triplet siblings, Hunter and Mazie Chapin, who attended the University of Idaho and were present on the morning the bodies were found, PEOPLE reported.
Amanda Kohberger appeared on the list of potential witnesses for the trial’s mitigation phase, which would have come after a guilty verdict. Her siblings, Melissa, and their parents, Michael and Maryann Kohberger, were also included.
