Hamas moved quickly on Tuesday to reduce tensions surrounding the precarious ceasefire with Israel by returning the bodies of more deceased hostages. This action came after an Israeli military body announced it would cut aid supplies to Gaza by half due to concerns that the militant group was not returning the remains as swiftly as had been previously agreed.

The International Committee of the Red Cross reported late Tuesday that it had successfully transferred four deceased hostages to Israeli authorities, adhering to the terms set out in the ceasefire agreement.

The freed Israeli hostages were in medical care, and some families said it would be weeks before the men could go home.

Dalia Cusnir-Horn shared that her brother-in-law, Eitan Horn, had suffered significant weight loss, shedding over 40% of his body weight due to receiving minimal food over the past months. This physical hardship was only a part of the trauma he endured, she noted.

“He’s just starting to realize… the friends he lost were murdered, and he was unaware of how many people were kidnapped that day. This nation went through a lot, and it’s overwhelming and difficult,” Cusnir-Horn expressed.

Moshe Levi described the joy his brother-in-law, Omri Miran, felt while playing with his young daughters — one of whom was less than a year old when her father was taken hostage.

“He could feel like he’s a father again,” Levi said.
