A 6-month-old Georgia boy has been found dead after his father reported he was taken during an armed robbery on Sunday.
The Clayton County Medical Examiner’s Office announced the discovery of Nnakai Pratt’s body on Tuesday in a dumpster near the Riverdale apartment complex where his father had reported him missing on Sunday, as per WANF.
Pratt’s father, 38-year-old Antonio Pearce, was subsequently arrested on Sunday for separate charges, as reported by CrimeOnline. Clayton County police mentioned they found “highly questionable” elements in Pearce’s armed robbery report.
Pearce faces charges of marijuana possession, improper child restraint, and driving with a suspended license and is being held without bond. He hasn’t yet been charged in relation to his son’s disappearance and death, though he has been identified as a suspect.
Pearce is scheduled for a court appearance on Wednesday regarding these charges, as reported by WXIA. Jail records indicate he is also facing an additional charge — making a false statement.
