'KPop Demon Hunters' thrills at the box office for limited run

Don’t Miss the Global Sing-Along Release of ‘KPop Demon Hunters’ in Theaters!

Netflix’s blockbuster animated film is making a triumphant return to theaters for a special three-day event, inviting fans to join the fun by singing along and dressing up in costumes.

WASHINGTON — Get ready for a spooky treat as “Huntr/x” makes its way back to theaters this Halloween!

Netflix has revealed that the beloved animated musical, featuring the fictional band “KPop Demon Hunters,” will be back on the big screen for an exclusive sing-along event.

This limited engagement will take place from October 31 to November 2, and it will be shown at AMC, Regal, and Cinemark theaters across the United States and Canada, as well as select international locations.

Fans around the world can also catch the event in theaters in the UK, Ireland, South Korea, Spain, Germany, Brazil, Mexico, New Zealand, and Australia.

The film follows the adventures of Huntr/x, a KPop sensation trio who secretly battle demons. The group, made up of Rumi (Arden Cho), Mira (May Hong), and Zooey (Ji-young Yoo), must defend their devoted fans while confronting their fiercest adversary yet—a rival boy band that’s actually a group of demons in disguise.

Tickets go on sale Oct. 17 at 6 a.m. PT for the U.S. and Canada. Fans can visit the official website to find a screening near them, while those overseas are encouraged to check local listings.

This marks the second theatrical run for the film. In August, it became Netflix’s first-ever No. 1 box-office title, grossing $16-18 million in ticket sales in just one weekend.

The sing-along event invites viewers to dress up in costume as their favorite characters and belt out hits like “Golden,” “How It’s Done” and “Soda Pop.” Characters from the movie are expected to be among this year’s most popular Halloween costumes.

“KPop Demon Hunters” has become Netflix’s most-watched animated original film to date since its June 20 release. It recently made history as the first soundtrack with four songs simultaneously on Billboard Hot 100’s Top 10, including “Golden” at No. 1, and has surpassed 7 billion global streams.
