Rapper Ksoo's brother sentenced to 12 years for accessory in murder

Abdul Robinson Jr., 30, was initially charged with first-degree murder in connection to the death of Charles McCormick but opted to plead guilty before his trial commenced.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — On Wednesday, Abdul Robinson Jr., the brother of Jacksonville rapper Ksoo, received a 12-year prison sentence in Duval County court. He pled guilty to being an accessory after the fact in a murder case for which his brother is serving a life sentence.

Originally facing a first-degree murder charge, Robinson Jr. changed his plea to guilty before his trial could start, admitting his involvement in the Charles McCormick case.

His brother, known by his stage name Ksoo, and another individual, Leroy Whitaker Jr., were both handed life sentences on October 1 for their roles in McCormick’s murder.

During the trial of Robinson and Whitaker, Dominique Barner, alias “Butta,” who admitted to being involved, testified that he, Robinson, Robinson Jr., and Whitaker schemed at McCormick’s residence with the intent to kill him.

According to the prosecution, Robinson’s motive for the murder stemmed from gang rivalries and a provocative “diss track” McCormick released, which mocked the death of Robinson’s stepbrother.

McCormick was 23 years old.
