Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist and a founding force behind the iconic glam rock band KISS, has passed away at the age of 74. Known for his electrifying performances, elaborate makeup, and signature smoke-billowing guitar, Frehley left an indelible mark on the rock music scene.

The legendary American rock star died peacefully on Thursday, surrounded by family in New Jersey, following complications from a recent fall, as confirmed by his agent. His passing has left a profound void, but his legacy endures through his music and the memories he created.

In a heartfelt statement, family members expressed being “completely devastated and heartbroken” by his loss. They shared their intent to honor his memory by cherishing the laughter and kindness he generously shared with those around him.

KISS, widely celebrated for their explosive stage performances, delivered unforgettable hits like “Rock and Roll All Nite” and “Detroit Rock City.” The band captivated audiences with their theatrical shows, complete with fireworks, smoke effects, and dramatic displays, all performed in their signature black-and-white face paint, towering platform boots, and striking black wigs.

In recognition of their significant contributions to rock music, Frehley and his bandmates were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, cementing their place in music history.
