Tragedy has struck in Clayton County, Georgia, as authorities have determined the cause of death for a six-month-old infant discovered deceased earlier this week. The heart-wrenching details were shared by local law enforcement during a press conference on Friday, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding this grim case.

The young child, NnAkai Pratt, suffered fatal injuries due to blunt force trauma, as reported by Atlanta’s Channel 2 Action News. Investigators now believe that NnAkai’s father, Antonio Pearce, inflicted these injuries before concealing his son’s body in a wooded area in Riverdale.

As previously detailed by CrimeOnline, Pearce faces a slew of charges in connection with these horrific events. He has been charged with murder, cruelty to children, aggravated assault and battery, tampering with evidence, concealment of death, unlawful disposal of a body, and providing false statements and reports to authorities.

The investigation took a dramatic turn after Pearce, 38, initially alleged that his son had been abducted at gunpoint during a supposed robbery last Sunday. However, Clayton County investigators discovered evidence that contradicted his story, leading them to a different and more disturbing conclusion.

On Tuesday, the tragic discovery was made when police found NnAkai’s body inside a trash bag in the vicinity where Pearce had reported the alleged robbery. The area, now marked by sorrow, serves as a stark reminder of the fragile nature of life and the depths of human despair, as reported by WANF.

On Tuesday, police found the body in a trash bag, in the wooded area near where Pearce had reported the supposed robbery, WANF said.

Initial reports indicated that police had found the child’s body in a dumpster. Police later said he had been found in the backyard of a home off Green Valley Road.

NnAkai’s mother, Necolette Pratt, was arrested after police said she helped Pearce cover up from the crime. She’s facing charges that include obstructing an officer, false statements, and party to the commission of a crime.

Both defendants remain behind bars without bail. Check back for updates.
