CHARLOTTE, N.C. () — A unique global collaboration is set to infuse Charlotte with international flair and creativity.

Inclusion Fest producer Kelly Melerine spearheads this vibrant event, while local designer Melanie Caballero has played a pivotal role by connecting with Ukrainian organizers. Caballero aided in choosing the standout sketches and skillfully transformed them into runway-ready creations. Additionally, local talents Larissa and Felicia Melville will present their own design at the show.

The initiative took root in 2020 when Ukrainian organizers initiated a children’s design competition. In the wake of the 2022 conflict, the competition broadened its scope, allowing Caballero to deepen her involvement.

The garments are inspired by the imaginative sketches of Ukrainian children, with some pieces highlighting the Melvilles’ Unstoppable collection, crafted to empower children and boost their self-esteem.

Part of the Inclusion Fest, this fashion show champions diversity and inclusion, featuring professional models alongside children with disabilities. Attendees will enjoy an inspiring display of fashion, a selection of food, and an insight into the creative journey from sketch to finished garment.

Scheduled for November 15th, the event will take place at Discover Play Science in Uptown Charlotte. For tickets and further details, visit impossibleinc.org.
