SNAP benefits at risk amid shutdown, potentially impacting millions of Floridians

Residents relying on federal food assistance programs may soon face challenges if the government shutdown persists much longer. Across the United States, states are cautioning that those dependent on the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) could see their benefits interrupted within the next two weeks.

“The federal government has advised states to halt the distribution of November benefits until further notice,” explained Holly Bullard from the Florida Policy Institute (FPI), a non-partisan organization committed to promoting policies that enhance economic mobility and life quality for Floridians.
