'Dancing with the Stars' week 6: Popular couple sent home on 'Wicked Night,' celebrating music from movies

LOS ANGELES — On “Dancing with the Stars,” the night was enchanted with performances inspired by the iconic Wicked films, featuring the show’s 10 remaining pairs.

This week, the judging panel saw the addition of a special guest: Jon M. Chu, known for directing Wicked and the anticipated Wicked: For Good, joined regular judges Carrie Ann Inaba, Derek Hough, and Bruno Tonioli.

Scores from “Wicked Night” were combined with those from the previous “Dedication Night” since there was no elimination last week. Ultimately, the journey ended for Pentatonix singer Scott Hoying and his dance pro, Rylee Arnold.

Reflecting on his time on the show, Scott expressed immense gratitude, saying, “It’s meant everything. I’m so incredibly grateful for this. Rylee is my favorite person ever. I had so much fun. I learned so much.”

In response, Arnold praised Scott’s efforts, stating, “I’m so proud of you. You did amazing this season, and I couldn’t have asked for a better partner.”

Meanwhile, reality TV star Whitney Leavitt dazzled the judges with her quickstep to “Popular,” securing the first 10s of the season. Alongside partner Mark Ballas, she received three 10s, missing a perfect score by just one point.

However, she didn’t stay at the top of the leaderboard alone for long, as gymnast Jordan Chiles also earned a 39/40, tying her as the top-scoring couple of week six.

Next week, expect the ballroom to be filled with spookiness as the show’s annual Halloween episode will take place on October 28.
