Novak Djokovic has decided to skip the upcoming Paris Masters, sharing the news on social media but leaving fans guessing about the reason behind his withdrawal.

In a post on X, Djokovic expressed, “Dear Paris, Sadly, I won’t be participating in this year’s Rolex Paris Masters.”

He continued by reminiscing, “I cherish the incredible memories and successes I’ve had over the years, notably winning the title seven times. I look forward to returning next year. Merci.”

Recently, the 38-year-old took part in the Six Kings Slam held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, an exhibition event known for featuring six prominent male tennis players.

Following a bye in the first round, Djokovic was defeated by the eventual winner, Jannik Sinner, in the semi-finals. He was unable to finish his third-place match against Taylor Fritz, having to retire after the first set.

Before his stint in Saudi Arabia, Djokovic participated in the Shanghai Masters in China, where he sustained a leg injury during his impressive semi-final campaign at the prestigious Masters 1000 tournament.

Prior to playing in the Gulf state, Djokovic competed at the Shanghai Masters in China, where he picked up a leg injury enroute to his semi-final run at the Masters 1000 event.

Djokovic has competed in only eight ATP Tour events outside of the four majors this year. He reached the semi-finals at each of the 2025 Grand Slams – the Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon and the U.S. Open – but the last three Slams were the only tournaments he entered between late May and late September.

The Paris Masters – which will be headlined by World No.1 Carlos Alcaraz and No. 2 Sinner – will run from October 27 to November 2, followed by the season-ending ATP Finals, scheduled for November 9-16 in Turin, Italy.

World No. 5 Djokovic has already qualified for the ATP Finals, where he is a record seven-time winner.
