NEW YORK (AP) — The NFL remains steadfast in its decision to feature Bad Bunny as the Super Bowl halftime show headliner, according to Commissioner Roger Goodell. On Wednesday, he reaffirmed the league’s commitment despite criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump and some of his followers.

Goodell addressed the controversy surrounding Bad Bunny during a press conference after the annual fall owners meeting. This marked his first public comment on the matter since the announcement in late September, which sparked global attention and increased streams of the artist’s music, alongside some backlash.

“We’ve given it a lot of thought,” Goodell explained. “Finding an artist for the halftime show without drawing some criticism is nearly impossible, considering the hundreds of millions tuning in to watch.”
