Nearly 80K sauna blankets recalled after dozens of burn injuries reported

In an important safety notice, Lifepro Fitness has announced the recall of nearly 80,000 sauna blankets, following reports that they can dangerously overheat and cause burns. The recall specifically targets the Bioremedy Infrared Sauna Blankets, as detailed by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) on October 23.

The recall comes after the company received 65 complaints of the blankets overheating, leading to 32 reported cases of burn injuries. This serious safety risk has prompted immediate action to ensure consumer protection.

The affected products were available in two sizes: regular, measuring 31 by 71 inches, and large, at 36 by 76 inches. Consumers are advised to check their sauna blankets for a control pad with a gray face, as this is a key indicator of the recalled units.

These sauna blankets, which were available in black, gray, pink, and purple, were sold online through major retailers including Lifepro.com, Amazon, Walmart, QVC, and Dick’s Sporting Goods. They were available for purchase from September 2022 up until June 2025, with prices ranging from $179 to $199.

As the recall affects a significant number of units, consumers are urged to act swiftly to avoid potential injury. Further information on how to handle the recall process can be obtained from Lifepro Fitness and the CPSC website.

The products, which came in black, gray, pink and purple colors, were sold exclusively online through Lifepro.com, Amazon.com, Walmart, QVC and Dick’s Sporting Goods between September 2022 and June 2025. The sauna blankets cost between $179 and $199.

The recall affects seven model numbers of the sauna blankets: LP-BRMDYL-BLK, LP-BRMDYL-GRY, LP-BRMDYR-BLK, LP-BRMDYR-GRY, LP-BRMDYR-BLU, LP-BRMDYR-PNK, and LP-BRMDYR-PRPL.

The “Lifepro” brand name and model number are printed on the front of both the blanket and controller.

Consumers are urged to immediately cease use of the recalled sauna blankets and unplug them. Those with the recalled products can visit the company’s website for instructions on getting a free replacement.

The notice also highlights that those with the recalled blankets should dispose of the product in compliance with local regulations.

Consumers can also contact Lifepro Fitness at 888-491-1690 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. ET or email at recalls@lifeprofitness.com.
