Coroner responding to office involved shooting at Sprint Gas station in North Augusta

NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — An officer-involved shooting took place at a gas station in North Augusta, and the Aiken County Coroner was called to the scene, officials confirmed.

The incident occurred on Sunday afternoon at the Sprint Gas Station situated on Edgefield Road. Reports indicate that at least three individuals were involved, though their identities have not yet been disclosed.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) verified that an officer was part of the incident; however, the officer was not injured.

According to North Augusta Public Safety, officers who responded to the scene confronted a suspect in the gas station’s parking lot. During this encounter, the suspect was shot by one of the officers.

Authorities also discovered two additional victims at the location prior to their arrival. However, the current condition of these individuals remains unconfirmed at this time.

Investigators then located two victims from before their arrival. Their conditions have not been confirmed.

The suspect was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
