A family in Melbourne’s south-east has been left terrified and are considering selling their home after armed offenders tried to break in overnight.

The tranquility of a Clyde neighborhood was shattered in the early hours as a family of six grappled with the aftermath of a terrifying attempted home invasion. Foregoing their daily routines, the family took a day off from school and work to come to terms with the traumatic event.

Surveillance footage captures a harrowing scene: two masked intruders attempting to forcefully kick in the front door just moments before 3 a.m. This chilling incident marks the fifth time in merely three years that this home has been targeted, leaving the residents deeply shaken and contemplating selling their home as a last resort.

“The whole family is shattered … scared,” shared Reynold, the father, in an interview with 9News. His voice echoed a mixture of anger and sadness, expressing the emotional toll this repeated violation has taken on his family.

The unsettling noises of breaking glass and a blaring security alarm abruptly woke the family, plunging them into a night of fear and uncertainty. As they navigate this distressing experience, the family is left to ponder their next steps in ensuring their safety and peace of mind.

“I’m seriously angry and I’m sad this has happened.”

The sound of shattered glass and a security alarm woke the residents up.

When they went outside to check out the noise, the offenders chased them back to the door.

A teenage son armed himself with a cricket bat during the incident as a grandfather yelled through the window.

One of the would-be home invaders was armed with a knife.

The front door was held closed as the family screamed for help.

“I still want to believe its a dream, I had a bad dream and nothing has happened,” Reynold said.

“If we hadn’t have shut that door and you know … four of us pushing against the door, they would’ve knifed one of my kids.”

The offenders fled the scene in a waiting car without taking anything.

The mother and father suffered cuts on their feet from the broken glass.

It’s also scarred the family emotionally.

Reynold and his family installed CCTV cameras after the previous four attacks, hoping it might keep them safe.

But the repeated attacks have terrified them so much they want to move suburbs.
