FBI hopes DNA can solve decades-old case of Amy Mihaljevic

FBI Leverages DNA Technology to Crack the 30-Year-Old Mystery of Amy Mihaljevic’s Disappearance

The FBI is revisiting a critical piece of evidence in the longstanding murder investigation of Amy Mihaljevic, a 10-year-old girl who was tragically abducted and murdered decades ago. A single hair is being analyzed with the hope that it might finally identify the perpetrator.

Amy vanished in 1989 from Bay Village, Ohio, after receiving mysterious phone calls from a stranger who gained her trust by promising to help her shop for a gift for her mother. Witnesses recall seeing a man approach her on that fateful day.

Her remains were discovered months later, in early 1990, along a desolate roadside.
