SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WCIA) — A serene spot for reflection has recently been introduced at the University of Illinois Springfield, offering more than just a place to rest. This new addition to the campus comes in the form of a bench, but its purpose stretches beyond simple seating.

Donated by Josh’s Benches for Awareness, this bench stands as a beacon of support for students grappling with mental health challenges. Officially unveiled on Monday, the bench bears an inscription of the suicide prevention hotline, serving as a constant reminder that help is always within reach.
