Florida Airport Launches Inaugural Nonstop Charter Flights to Japan

ORLANDO, Fla. (WFLA) — In a groundbreaking development for air travel, Floridians will soon have the opportunity to fly directly to Japan without layovers, following an announcement made on Tuesday.

Orlando International Airport has teamed up with ZIPAIR, a budget-friendly airline from Japan, to introduce nonstop passenger charter flights connecting the city to Tokyo.

“This collaboration with ZIPAIR marks more than a new flight path; it’s a historical milestone,” stated Lance Lyttle, the CEO of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority. This will be the inaugural nonstop flight service bridging Asia Pacific and Florida. The partnership underscores the robust economic ties between our regions. We eagerly anticipate greeting ZIPAIR travelers with the signature warmth and hospitality that define both of our cultures.”

The airport highlighted in its release that Tokyo was Orlando’s most significant untapped Asian market. The introduction of these flights will not only establish the first direct passenger link between Tokyo and Orlando but also inaugurate the first nonstop flights connecting Florida with the Asian Pacific.

Shingo Nishida, Representative Director and President of ZIPAIR Tokyo, expressed pride in this pioneering accomplishment, noting, “This will be the first direct charter service from Japan to Orlando, Florida. With Orlando being a hub for world-renowned theme parks, we aim to fulfill travelers’ expectations with ZIPAIR’s innovative air travel standards. We are excited to welcome Disney enthusiasts and other guests on our charter flights starting next Spring.”

ZIPAIR will operate four flights between Orlando International Airport and Narita International Airport on the following dates:

Feb. 23, 2026
Feb. 28, 2026
March 5, 2026
March 10, 2026

Tickets are expected to go on sale in early December 2025. Other details will be announced at a later date.
