A manhunt is underway in California after a critical error led to the release of a murder suspect from jail. The Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office is actively searching for Isaiah Jamon Andrews, a 20-year-old from Kent, Washington, who was mistakenly set free from the Martinez Detention Facility on October 22. His current whereabouts remain unknown.

The sheriff’s office has acknowledged the mistake and stated, “After realizing the error, we conducted an immediate search of the vicinity, but it was confirmed that Andrews had already left the area.” In response, U.S. Marshals have joined the efforts to locate Andrews.

Andrews is the main suspect in a murder case stemming from an October 15 incident in Seattle. The victim, also 20 years old, was fatally shot in a hotel situated in the city’s Northgate neighborhood, as detailed by Detective Brian Pritchard of the Seattle Police Department.
