An unsettling incident unfolded in Pennsylvania when a registered sex offender was apprehended on Tuesday, following an alleged attack on a woman during a home invasion in Bensalem.
According to reports, 45-year-old Louis Sophie gained entry to the residence through an unlocked door. Once inside, he allegedly accosted a female resident, making disturbing remarks by telling her she “looks tasty” as he began removing his clothes, as detailed by WCAU.
The situation escalated until the woman managed to fend him off, prompting Sophie to flee the scene. He reportedly escaped through Poquessing Creek but was quickly apprehended by police at a nearby gas station in Philadelphia, a short distance from where the incident occurred, as covered by WTXF.
Sophie’s criminal history is notably concerning; he is listed by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement as a sex offender, with a prior conviction in New York in 2005 for possessing child pornography.
Facing serious charges of burglary and attempted rape in this recent case, Sophie is now held on a $1 million bail, as authorities continue their investigation into the disturbing events.
