Christian Brückner, identified as the primary suspect in the disappearance of Madeleine McCann, has recently been released from a German prison.
After completing a seven-year term for an unrelated rape conviction, Brückner is now under stringent supervision. His movements are monitored via an electronic ankle bracelet, and he has relinquished his passport.
Despite his release, German prosecutors maintain their focus on him as the chief suspect in the McCann case, pledging to continue their investigative efforts.
The German national, Christian Brueckner, emerged as a key figure in the investigation into the 2007 disappearance of Madeleine McCann, a British toddler.
Currently 44 years old, Brueckner was serving a seven-year sentence in Germany for the 2005 rape of an elderly American woman. The young Madeleine vanished from a holiday apartment in Portugal while on a family vacation.
Since June 2020, a Portuguese prosecutor based in Braunschweig, Germany, has been actively pursuing legal action against Brueckner.
