A 38-year-old man is in Royal Darwin Hospital after a quad bike crash that killed an 11-year-old boy.

Tragedy struck a Northern Territory mango farm when an 11-year-old boy lost his life in a quad bike accident, leaving a man injured and hospitalised. This heartbreaking incident unfolded at a farm located in the Darwin River region, where a quad bike carrying the young boy and a 38-year-old man collided with a tree.

Upon receiving the distressing call, emergency services, including police and St John Ambulance, rushed to the scene. They found the boy unresponsive, and despite immediate CPR efforts, he could not be revived and was sadly pronounced dead at the site.

The man involved in the crash, who sustained leg injuries, was swiftly transported to Royal Darwin Hospital for medical attention. While the extent of his current condition remains uncertain, it is reported that his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

CPR was immediately conducted, however the boy could not be revived, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital for treatment to his injuries.

It is not known his current condition, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Police have confirmed the Major Crash Investigation is investigating the accident.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about the crash to make contact with police on 131 444, and are instructed to quote the reference number P25294992.
