Authorities have reported a violent incident that took place late Sunday night, involving both a shooting and a stabbing at a gas station in Jacksonville.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office (JSO) confirmed that a man in his 30s is currently in “serious but stable” condition following the attack, which occurred around 11 p.m. on Sunday. Police were alerted to the situation at approximately 11:07 p.m. when they were dispatched to the 1300 block of Kings Road after receiving reports of gunfire.

Upon their arrival, officers learned that the injured man had already made his way to a nearby hospital. He informed the medical staff there that the incident took place at a Sunoco gas station.

In a conversation with police, the victim recounted that he had gone to the gas station with his wife, who entered the store while he stayed outside and engaged with two individuals behind the building. The situation escalated into a verbal altercation, during which one suspect allegedly shot him in the abdomen, and the other allegedly stabbed him in the face.

Following the assault, the suspects reportedly fled the scene on foot, heading in an unknown direction, according to the police.

Due to the severity of his injuries, police have been unable to conduct a detailed interview with the victim. Nonetheless, he remains under medical care, and his condition, though serious, is stable.

JSO encourages any information regarding this incident to be sent to the non-emergency number at 904-630-0500. If you wish to remain anonymous, you can use Crime Stoppers at 1-866-845-tips or email them at jsocrimetips@jaxsheriff.org.
