Authorities in Kentucky are urging parents to thoroughly inspect Halloween candy after alarming discoveries of needles hidden inside treats in two separate counties.
During the weekend, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office took to social media to alert the public about two frightening cases where needles were found in Halloween candy.
The first incident unfolded on Halloween night when deputies in Madison County were called after a trick-or-treater found needles embedded in a package of Twizzlers. Upon inspection, two needles were identified inside the candy.
Images of the needles found in the candy have been shared below.

In a separate incident on Saturday, deputies reported that while examining their haul, trick-or-treaters found a needle protruding from an Almond Joy candy bar. Photos show the needle visibly sticking out from the chocolate.
At this time, the sheriff’s office has not indicated whether there is a connection between these two cases.
On Sunday, nearly 150 miles away, the Glasgow Police Department posted to their social media a photo of a needle sticking out of a broken candy bar.
Anyone who finds contaminated candy should contact police.
