A $1 million reward will be offered to help find whoever killed a NSW mother and dumped her in a drain near the Queensland-NSW border.
NSW police will today travel to Moree in the state’s far north to announce a massive increase to the amount of money on offer for information into the murder of Theresa Binge.
She was 43 when she was last seen about midday on July 18, 2003, at O’Shea’s Royal Hotel in Goondiwindi on the Queensland side of the border.
The NSW Government, together with the NSW Police Force, will announce a $1 million reward for information into the murder of Boggabilla woman Theresa Binge.

A woman from Boggabilla was reported missing on a Monday, and by July 29, authorities had discovered her body.

The mother was found abandoned in a drainage culvert along what was once known as Boomi Road, now referred to as Mungindi-Goondiwindi Bridge Road, approximately 12 kilometers south of Goondiwindi in New South Wales.

In 2007, an inquest concluded that Binge was murdered, yet her assailant remains unidentified. Despite the New South Wales government offering a $100,000 reward that same year for information leading to an arrest and conviction, the case remains unsolved.

Today, Detective Superintendent Joseph Doueihi, head of the homicide squad, will join Binge’s daughter, Daylene Barlow, outside the Moree police station to renew their appeal for information.

Barlow expressed her regrets to the Sydney Morning Herald, wishing she had conveyed the depth of her feelings to her mother.

“As they often say—you’re here one moment and gone the next,” remarked Barlow, 45, to the newspaper.

“It’s like they say – one minute you’re there, and the next minute you’re gone,” Barlow, 45, told the newspaper.
