A Florida teenager, just 15 years old, is facing adult charges following the alleged murder of a classmate, sparked by an incident where the victim reportedly bumped into him without offering an apology.

The tragic event unfolded at approximately 2:45 p.m. on October 9 at Vogt-Meloon Park, located on West Oak Ridge Road in Orlando. According to a probable cause arrest affidavit, officers from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office arrived to find a 16-year-old, identified as Pinien Dalmacy, suffering from a gunshot wound to the left side of his head. Emergency responders transported Dalmacy to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Witnesses pointed to Jacori Antonio Redding as the suspect. Investigators found that tensions escalated when Dalmacy accidentally bumped into Redding in the hallways of Oak Ridge High School. Dalmacy’s refusal to apologize reportedly provoked Redding, who then issued a challenge for a fight at the nearby park, according to police reports.

On their way to the park, Redding allegedly taunted Dalmacy, throwing gang signs. The confrontation began with Dalmacy landing the first punch, leading to a scuffle. During the struggle, Redding allegedly drew a gun and fatally shot Dalmacy. The shooting was captured on video, supporting the accounts of witnesses, authorities stated.

Following the incident, Redding returned to the school, where deputies apprehended him. He claimed self-defense and had the purported murder weapon in his backpack. Redding now faces charges including manslaughter, possession of a firearm on school property, and possession of a firearm by a minor.

Court documents reveal Redding had amassed nearly 40 disciplinary infractions at school, with about half related to fighting. Disturbingly, a text message surfaced from two months prior, where Redding allegedly expressed a wish to resolve a fistfight by using a gun, which mirrors the charges he currently faces.

Deputies also noted he was previously arrested and out on bond for grand theft of a motor vehicle.

He’s currently in the Orange County Jail without bond. His next court date is scheduled for Wednesday.
