Randy Madden, a former contestant on “American Idol,” has been arrested under accusations of engaging in sexual activities with a minor. Details of the arrest are available through a report by TMZ.
The 45-year-old is currently facing six serious felony charges in California. These include unlawful sexual intercourse, oral copulation with someone under 18, penetration with a foreign object, distributing harmful material, luring, and attempting to prevent a witness from reporting a crime, as per court documents accessed by TMZ.
The accusations relate to incidents that allegedly took place between July and September this year. The documents do not specify the age of the alleged victim.
Online records indicate that Madden was detained in Ventura County Jail last week. He has entered a plea of not guilty to all charges and was released after posting a $100,000 bond early Tuesday morning, according to court officials who spoke with TMZ.
Madden is scheduled to appear in court again on November 13.
Madden appeared on Season 8 of the singing competition where he performed Bon Jovi’s “Livin’ On a Prayer” during his audition in Phoenix. He was eliminated when judges Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi all gave him a no.
