Sydney Sweeney, the renowned Hollywood actress, has finally addressed the buzz surrounding her American Eagle “good jeans” advertising campaign. She described the experience as “surreal,” particularly when prominent figures like President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance publicly supported her and defended the campaign.
In an interview with GQ magazine, the 28-year-old was asked about the mixed reactions sparked by her participation in the advertisement. The ad cleverly highlighted not only the store’s quality jeans but also Sweeney’s impressive genes, which led to a significant buzz.
Following the campaign, American Eagle’s stocks surged, signaling a resurgence of traditional marketing approaches. This shift was embraced by many, as the company featured a woman who confidently celebrated her femininity and beauty, as noted by Brandon Morse from RedState.

“I did a jean advertisement. The response was definitely unexpected, but I genuinely love jeans,” Sweeney shared. “Jeans are my go-to; I’m practically living in jeans and a T-shirt every single day.”

“I did a jean ad. I mean, the reaction definitely was a surprise, but I love jeans,” Sweeney said. All I wear are jeans. I’m literally in jeans and a T-shirt every day of my life.”
The GQ reporter then asked her, “The president and the vice president spoke about the jeans ad. What was that like?”
“It was surreal,” Sweeney replied, before the reporter pressed if she felt thankful they had her back in public that way.
“I don’t think…. It’s not that I didn’t have that feeling, but I wasn’t thinking of it like that, of any of it. I kind of just put my phone away,” she added. “I was filming every day. I’m filming Euphoria, so I’m working 16-hour days, and I don’t really bring my phone on set, so I work and then I go home and I go to sleep. So I didn’t really see a lot of it.”

The actress also hit back at claims that her ad somehow hurt the company following a backlash from radical leftists who tried to claim it was an example of Nazi propaganda. Honestly, they are Looney Tunes.
“I was aware of the numbers as it was going,” Sweeney said. “So when I saw all the headlines of in-store visits were down a certain percentage, none of it was true.”
“It was all made up, but nobody could say anything because [the company was] in their quiet period,” she added. “So it was all just a lot of talk. And because I knew at the end of the day what that ad was for, and it was great jeans, it didn’t affect me one way or the other.”
When pressed if she wanted to say something more about the ad and criticism that it wasn’t right for “white people to joke about genetic superiority,” (honestly, what?), Sweeney replied, “I think that when I have an issue that I want to speak about, people will hear.”
As RedState reported, Trump most certainly did reveal his thoughts on Sweeney’s campaign in the only way he could.
“She’s a registered Republican?” he quipped. “Oh, now I love her ad!”

“You’d be surprised at how many people are Republicans,” Trump added. “That’s one I wouldn’t have known, but I’m glad you told me that.”
“If Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican, I think her ad is fantastic!”
Vance’s response was even better.
🚨 LMAO! JD Vance just reacted to leftists melting down over Sydney Sweeney
“My political advice to Democrats is continue to tell everyone who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive is a NAZl” 🤣

“My political advice to the Democrats is to continue to tell everybody who thinks Sydney Sweeney is attractive [they are] a Nazi — that appears to be their actual strategy,” Vance said in an appearance on the “Ruthless” Variety Program.
“It actually reveals something interesting about the Dems, though, which is that you have a normal, all-American, beautiful girl doing a normal jeans ad to sell jeans to kids in America [and] they have managed to so unhinge themselves over this thing.”
Honestly, Sweeney was a total champ with the interviewers’ gotcha questions, and it’s more proof of her rockstar status.
