ORLANDO, Fla. – Central Florida is bracing for a noticeable shift in weather as we progress through the weekend into the coming week. While the region currently basks in a spell of warm, mild days, a blast of cooler air is anticipated early next week.

Orlando residents should prepare for a significant drop in temperatures, with morning lows potentially dipping to 45 degrees by Tuesday. This is a stark contrast to the typical 60-degree average usually experienced at this time of year. Although these temperatures will be below the seasonal norm, they are not expected to break any records. The record low for Orlando on Tuesday morning stands at 39 degrees, which was set in 1932. Meanwhile, some of the more inland areas of northern Central Florida might see morning temperatures plunge into the 30s, marking the coldest air of the season thus far.

Before this cool wave hits, the weekend promises to be warm and largely pleasant. Afternoon highs are projected to reach the low to mid-80s through Sunday. Orlando is expected to hit a high of 81 degrees on Thursday, with Friday climbing to 83 degrees. The weekend could see even warmer temperatures in the mid-80s, ensuring conditions remain well above average for this time of year.

A robust cold front is slated to arrive on Sunday, bringing about a sharp change. By Monday, daytime highs are forecasted to drop to around 70 degrees. The most significant cooldown is set for Veterans Day on Tuesday, as temperatures are predicted to start briskly at 45 degrees, with a high reaching only 65 degrees.

Orlando will top out at 81 degrees Thursday and reach 83 degrees on Friday. The weekend forecast includes even warmer temperatures in the mid-80s, keeping things well above average.

A strong cold front arrives Sunday. By Monday, highs are forecast around 70 degrees, and the biggest cooldown is set for Veterans Day on Tuesday, with the forecast showing a brisk start at 45 degrees and a high of just 65.

    Slight rain chances

Most areas are expected to remain dry Thursday, with a 10% chance of isolated sprinkles, mainly from Sanford through Orlando, Kissimmee and along the coast. Clouds may be more noticeable at times, especially in the mornings and overnight, but significant rainfall isn’t likely for the majority of the region.

Most of the week’s sky will bring a mix of blue and cloudy spells. Any rain that does occur should be light and scattered.
