Tampa Bay lawmaker's bill would require portraits of Washington, Lincoln in Florida classrooms

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A new legislative proposal mandates Florida public schools to exhibit portraits of former Presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln in classrooms.

This proposal, identified as “an act relating to patriotic displays in classrooms,” was introduced on Thursday by Republican state Senator Danny Burgess, who represents areas in Pasco and Hillsborough counties.
