Suspicious package with anti-Trump messaging prompts medical visits at Joint Base Andrews, official says

According to U.S. officials, a group of servicemembers at Joint Base Andrews reported headaches after encountering a suspicious package featuring anti-Trump messages on Thursday afternoon. They subsequently sought medical attention from a base doctor, as reported by Fox News.

An Air Force representative indicated that the package contained derogatory statements about the president and his policies, though details were sparse. Fortunately, all seven individuals were quickly given a clean bill of health, and no dangerous substances were discovered on the premises, as per Fox News reports.

Joint Base Andrews serves as the home for Air Force One and other aircraft used by the president, vice president, and senior U.S. officials. A senior official assured, “Airfield operations continued uninterrupted, and there was no impact on Air Force One or Joint Base Andrews activities.”

Fox News noted that the incident took place in the National Guard building, which is situated on the opposite side of the base from Air Force One.

“As a safety measure, both the affected building and an adjacent one were evacuated, and a security perimeter was established,” stated a spokesperson to Fox News. “First responders from Joint Base Andrews arrived at the scene, confirmed there were no immediate threats, and normal activities have since resumed. An investigation is underway.”
