Orlando Bloom recently stirred up some intrigue with what appeared to be a subtle dig at his former fiancée, Katy Perry, during a Halloween celebration. The 48-year-old actor was photographed alongside actress Rachel Lynn Matthews, who humorously dressed as Perry for the occasion, sparking a buzz on social media.

Their relationship, which lasted nine years, ended in July, and since then, Perry, 41, has been linked romantically with former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, 53. This post-breakup development has kept the singer in the headlines.

Orlando’s choice to be seen with Rachel, who poked fun at Perry’s space adventure with Blue Origin, has set the rumor mill into overdrive. Matthews’ costume seemed to nod at Perry’s much-discussed space flight, which took place back in April.

The 11-minute journey drew criticism for its extravagant cost and its environmental implications. Additionally, the theatrical antics of the six-member crew upon their return to Earth were a talking point. Katy notably kissed the ground after exiting the capsule and gave an emotional interview to waiting reporters.

Bearing a striking resemblance to Orlando’s ex, Rachel donned a blue catsuit that Katy wore for the mission and rocked a jet black wig. 

The actress openly mocked the singer by recreating the photo of Katy kissing the ground and wrote: ‘Take up space!’. 

Orlando, who wore skeleton face paint, has faced backlash from fans, with some branding it ‘disrespectful’. 

One reddit user wrote: ‘This is so disrespectful especially to someone he will have to co parent with’, while another added: ‘This is so tasteless.’

The Daily Mail has contacted Orlando’s representatives for comment. 

Rachel is an American actress who is best known for starring in the film Happy Death Day and its sequel, Happy Death Day 2U. 

The viral photo comes as Katy released the video for her new song Bandaids on Thursday.

The couple called it quits in June after nearly a decade together. They share a five-year-old daughter named Daisy Dove.

In the gory video, Katy sings about trying to save a dying relationship as she survives a number of unfortunate accidents, including her shoelace getting caught in an escalator and a tree log falling off from the truck in front of her and hitting her car.

She then gets her foot caught on the train tracks as an oncoming train speeds toward her, and that’s when she catches sight of a daisy, a touching nod to their daughter.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Orlando has returned to dating, just four months after his split from Katy. 

The actor has been going to posh cocktail bar The Rex Rooms, on King’s Road in Chelsea, and has been spotted getting cosy with a mystery brunette at the swanky venue.

A source told The Sun: ‘Orlando and Katy split really amicably and only want the best for each other. He has been keeping things low-key but is dating again.

‘He’s been on a string of dates in Chelsea and it looks pretty chill, but he’s having fun.

‘Right now, he’s keeping it casual.’

Katy was previously married to comedian Russell Brand from 2010 until 2012.  

Katy and Justin kicked off speculation about a budding romance in July when they were spotted having an intimate dinner at Le Violon restaurant in Montreal. However, both have refused to comment on their relationship status.

Earlier this month, The Mail On Sunday revealed Katy’s romance with the former Prime Minister of Canada as they were snapped kissing and cuddling on the singer’s 24-metre yacht, the Caravelle, off the coast of Santa Barbara, California.

A witness who took the snaps last month, said: ‘She pulled up her boat next to a small public whale-watching boat, then they started making out. I didn’t realize who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy’s arm and I immediately realized it was Justin Trudeau.’

Television host Sophie, 50, spoke about the art of not holding on to love in a new Instagram post uploaded on Monday.

‘Sometimes we forget that nothing we love is ever meant to be kept,’ she said.

‘The people, the places, even the moments that once felt infinite, right?

‘Time asks us not to cling to them, but yet we do. I do because to hold on feels safer than to let go.’

Sophie continued: ‘But, love was never about possession, it was always about presence. The present moment and when we release what we cannot keep, we make space for the truth of connection, intimacy, the memory, for the lesson.

‘A single smile can echo across a lifetime, grief also lives there. I lost my dad in the past year, and I feel that with grief also comes grace.

Sophie split from Justin in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage.

They have two sons, Xavier, 18, and Hadrien, 11, and a daughter, Ella-Grace, 16.
