The event also coincided with the somber two-month anniversary of Kirk’s assassination. He was originally slated to headline the tour, adding an emotional layer to the proceedings. Notably, there has been significant reaction from public figures, including Kristin Chenoweth, who recently shared that the backlash surrounding Charlie Kirk had taken a significant emotional toll on her.

The City of Berkeley Police have made two arrests thus far. One of the individuals was arrested for battery.

Attendees for the TPUSA event at UC Berkeley are now behind the police line, with the crowd attempting to go through the barricade at Zellerbach Hall/ Officers line up with riot gear.

Tonight is the last stop of Turning Point’s rebranded “This is The Turning Point” tour, a series of college campus visits that have continued even after Kirk was killed at the first stop of the tour at Utah Valley University in September.

The event was held exactly two months after the assassination of TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, who was initially set to headline the event.

Feature appearances from comedian Rob Schneider and Christian author Frank Turek. It’s set to kick off at 6:30 p.m. local time.

Since Kirk’s death, several prominent conservative figures have made appearances on the tour at universities across the country, including Vice President JD Vance and former Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

Earlier this morning, four Berkeley students were arrested on campus while attempting to hang up an approximately five-foot-tall cardboard bug in protest of Turning Point and the event.

Last month, students at UVU gathered to protest the creation of a memorial on their school’s campus, where Kirk was fatally shot.
