A Chicago man, who previously found himself on probation, will not be enjoying the high life anytime soon after receiving a 10-year prison sentence for carjacking a Rolls-Royce from an elderly woman. The incident, which unfolded in June 2024, involved Trevon Robinson, aged 19, and a silver 2017 Rolls-Royce Wraith belonging to an 83-year-old victim.

Robinson, who hails from Chicago, entered a guilty plea to a felony charge of aggravated vehicular hijacking with a firearm. The crime occurred when he used a dark-colored SUV to block the victim’s vehicle before brandishing a firearm to commandeer the luxury car.

Authorities quickly swung into action, dispatching officers from the department’s carjacking task force to pursue the stolen vehicle. Their efforts culminated in Robinson’s arrest shortly after the incident.

Interestingly, as revealed by WGN-TV through court documents, Robinson had the audacity to film himself trailing the hijacked Rolls-Royce on the day of the crime, an act that likely contributed to his swift capture.

According to WGN-TV, citing court documents, Robinson recorded a video of himself following the hijacked Rolls-Royce on the day of the carjacking.

Authorities also revealed that they recovered a note from his phone with the victim’s home address.

At the time of the incident, Robinson was on parole from the Illinois Department of Corrections, where he had been serving an 18-month sentence for aggravated unlawful use of a weapon.

According to Alderman Matthew O’Shea (19th Ward), the elderly woman was not harmed in the carjacking.

“I would like to thank the Chicago Police Department and Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office for their work in getting this habitual gun offender off the street,” O’Shea said in a statement to the local outlet.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Chicago Police Department for comment.
