In a bid to unravel the mystery surrounding a tragic stabbing incident in Bega, police have expanded their investigation to include a search of nearby wetland areas. The fatal incident, which unfolded on the New South Wales South Coast, has left the community on edge as authorities continue their pursuit of the suspects involved.

The grim discovery occurred on October 6, when a 43-year-old man was found fatally wounded in a park on East Street, Bega. Responding to distress calls reporting concerns for an individual’s welfare, first responders arrived at the scene around 2 a.m. Despite the paramedics’ urgent efforts, the man’s injuries proved too severe, resulting in his untimely death at the location.

In the wake of the incident, a comprehensive homicide investigation was swiftly initiated. Adding to the complexity of the case, another victim, a 45-year-old man, was found with stab wounds. He was transported to South East Regional Hospital and is currently in stable condition.

The aim of the search was to locate items that may have been discarded after the alleged stabbing, police said.
