Police are hunting for two males who allegedly assaulted a 13-year-old boy and left another seriously injured at the scene of a crash as they stole two e-bikes in Melbourne’s east.

Authorities report that two 13-year-old boys were riding their e-bikes along the Koonung Creek Trail in Doncaster East at approximately 5 p.m. on Monday when they were confronted by two masked individuals.

According to police, the assailants attacked one of the boys and stole his e-bike in the process.

The injured boy was subsequently transported to the hospital with severe injuries, including skull fractures, a severely broken leg, and a broken nose.

Senior Constable Liam Webb stated, “He remains in a serious condition, and we have yet to speak with him directly to gather his account of the incident.”

He further expressed his dismay, saying, “It’s distressing to witness someone left in such a state of agony in the bush, just for the sake of a bike. It’s truly appalling.”

The suspects are described as Caucasian males, approximately 15 years old, standing around 165 cm tall, and were dressed in black ski masks and black clothing.

One offender had black hair and was wearing a multi-coloured BAPE hoodie.
