In a troubling incident near Darawank, roughly 10 kilometers from Forster, two men and a teenage boy were traveling northbound in a sedan around 5 p.m. yesterday on The Lakes Way.
According to police reports, a confrontation occurred between the occupants of the sedan and a ute driver, who was also heading north.
The situation escalated when the ute driver allegedly crashed into the sedan intentionally, causing the two men to exit their vehicle.
Shockingly, the driver of the ute is accused of then running over both men.
As the teenage boy attempted to assist them, it’s reported that the ute driver struck him in the face before fleeing the scene.
One of the men, aged 56, sustained serious injuries, including pelvic fractures and head trauma, necessitating an airlift to the hospital.
A 56-year-old man was airlifted to hospital with pelvic fractures and head injuries.
A 39-year-old man is being treated in hospital for spinal and facial injuries.
Both men are reportedly in a serious but stable condition.
A 15-year-old boy is being treated in hospital for facial injuries.
A 50-year-old man has been arrested charged with two counts of grievous bodily harm and one count of assault.
The Diamond Beach man was refused bail and will appear in court today.
