The Los Angeles Police Department has identified singer D4vd as a suspect in the tragic death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas, according to a department insider.
As reported by KNBC, this source, who is closely involved with the investigation, indicated that the Houston-native musician, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, has not been forthcoming in the investigation concerning the teenager’s death.
On September 8, one day after Rivas turned 15, her “severely decomposed” remains were discovered in the front trunk of a Tesla linked to Burke, as previously reported by CrimeOnline. The vehicle had been abandoned and was subsequently towed to a lot near Burke’s rental residence in the Hollywood Hills.
For several days, the car remained at the tow yard before the police uncovered the grim contents. Authorities revealed that Rivas’ dismembered body was found inside a bag placed in the car’s front trunk.
While the death has been officially classified as a homicide, the exact cause remains undetermined pending the completion of toxicology reports.
Reports suggest Rivas left her home earlier this year, possibly to be with Burke, though police have yet to verify these claims.
Police say they believe Rivas died in the spring and that more than one person was likely involved in the dismemberment and disposal of the body, KNBC said.
