In a tragic sequence of events, Walt Disney World has reported its fifth fatality in less than a month. This somber news was shared through a succinct message on their social media platform.

The latest victim, whose identity remains undisclosed, died at Orlando’s Saratoga Springs Resort on the afternoon of November 8.

On that day, Disney’s X account initially alerted followers with the message ‘person down’ at 3:18 PM. Shortly afterward, this was updated to ‘dead person’, marking the grim development.

As of now, the theme park has refrained from making further statements, and law enforcement has not yet released any details regarding the incident. The individual’s name has not been revealed.

This incident follows four separate fatalities at Disney World, highlighting a concerning pattern that has overshadowed the beloved destination over the past month.

The unsettling series began with the death of avid Disney fan Summer Equitz, 31, who tragically ended her life at the Contemporary Resort Hotel on October 14.

Her cause of death was ruled as multiple blunt impact injuries, with the medical examiner providing no further information.

Equitz, who visited Disney World during her honeymoon, had flown out to the resort from Illinois without telling her family before she died.

A fifth person has died at Walt Disney World in less than a month. Disney's 'Active Calls' X account issued a statement saying 'person down' at 3.18pm that day, and minutes later they shared an update saying this status had changed to 'dead person', as shown above

Just days later, on October 21, a 60-year-old man died after suffering a medical episode at the Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground.

The man had been traveling with his wife, who found him unresponsive.

The Nurse Anesthetists’ report, reviewed by People, did not include a cause of death, but noted that he suffered from hypertension and end-stage liver disease.

Aspiring NFL referee Matthew Cohn, 28, died by suicide at the same hotel as Equitz on October 23. He reportedly jumped from a balcony.

A fourth vacationer died in the early hours of November 2 – a woman in her 40s who was found unresponsive at the Pop Century Resort.

The site is home to a budget hotel themed around 20th-century American pop culture.

Known for its bold decor, the site is connected to Epcot and Hollywood Studios by the Skyliner, a gondola lift system that links multiple theme parks and resorts to one another.

She was later pronounced dead in hospital, a spokesman for the Orange County Sheriff’s Office told the Daily Mail. There were no signs of foul play.

Including the five recent deaths, Disney World’s death toll since its opening in 1971 is 70.

Disney’s website describes it as a ‘charming, Victorian-style Resort hotel nestled between rolling golf course greens and the shimmering Lake Buena Vista’.

Guests can enjoy staying in stately studios and villas beside ‘dazzling pools and a spa’, the website states.

The Daily Mail has reached out to the resort for more information on the latest death.
