Authorities are delving into a hit-and-run incident at a laundromat in Adelaide, where a car dramatically crashed into the establishment, barely missing a cleaner and a child.

The unsettling event unfolded around 8 p.m. last night, causing extensive damage to the Yorktown Road site in Elizabeth Park.

The cleaner, who has chosen to remain unnamed, recounted the harrowing experience, expressing her lingering distress.

“I’m still in shock,” she confessed, reflecting on the incident that could have resulted in serious injury.

The vehicle involved, a Holden sedan, didn’t just collide with the laundromat once. Remarkably, it reversed and rammed into the building a second time before speeding away from the scene.

Speculating on the driver’s intentions, the cleaner mentioned, “Maybe he accidentally did this,” hinting at the possibility of an unintentional act.

“I’m not sure what’s happened with him… because he hit (the building) a few times.”

Police located the vehicle in Craigmore, however, the driver remains at large.

The laundromat had recently replaced the window after a customer accidentally broke it last week.

The business continued to operate today but it’s believed the damage bill will exceed $5000.
