Convenience store worker allegedly stabbed during robbery

A convenience store employee was hospitalized after an alleged robbery attempt by a group of teenagers in Sydney, during which he was stabbed.

Authorities have now charged four additional teenagers in connection with the incident, which took place around 2:20 a.m. in Burwood, located in Sydney’s south-west.

The 28-year-old worker, who tried to intervene, was critically injured when one of the teenagers reportedly stabbed him. He remains in the hospital in a critical yet stable condition.

At 8 a.m. the following day, police apprehended a 17-year-old boy at Blacktown railway station. He now faces charges of wounding, robbery, and other offenses.

Subsequently, officers also detained two boys, aged 13 and 16, along with a 15-year-old girl at the same location.

They were charged with robbery and participating in criminal group activity.

Soon after police arrested a 14-year-old boy at the station and charged him with armed robbery, wounding and other offences.

All five were refused bail and are due to front the children’s court today.

Police inquiries are continuing.
